The Acoustic Friends Showcase

Last Saturday night, Joy and I went on a date to listen to some classical tunes at the Rebecca's Coffee Shop east of the San Diego Balboa Park. Hosted by Jim Earp a extraordinaire finger-style guitarist played some very cool tunes and also featured Crystal Pollard a singer & songwriter. We were also entertained by Rex Castor a co-worker and two of his friends Ken St. John & Roby Robertson a trio guitarists and singers in a group called "Schmooze" - they played some really awesome music.

UP and Pat & Oscar

On Father's Day we went to the movie to see UP in 3D, it was sad and funny. Then Leilani & Jay treated us to Pat & Oscar for a very late lunch -Thanks Leilani & Jay. Took these picture with Joy's new Lumix DMC-FX150 point & shoot camera by Panasonic. I bought it from Geeks.com for $215, it's a 14.7MP 3.6x Optical Zoom, what I like is the manual mode and takes HD movies.

Our little Chauffeur

Ariana passed her driving test first time in March 4, 2009. She can drive a jet ski, jet boat, go Karts and her quad when she was young but still can't ride a bike. I remember trying to teach her how to ride a bike, installing and removing the training wheels off & on so many times, that I just give up.

VISIONS OF ABRAHAM

Dear God,

Today I place

My child on the altar

Of our country.

I take this tender

Piece of my heart,

That was molded in my body

By Your hand

And with the trust of a child,

I place his hand in Yours.

Father, I humbly and gladly

Give back to You

What you so beautifully handed to me.

On the day of his birth

You placed his future

In my trembling hands

And trusted me to guide him in Your Ways.

Now I pass on to You

The gift of his life.

I ask only that You use it

For Your glory and honor.

My trust is in You

My son is in Your care

My heart is at peace. Amen

to the MOM's - Happy Mother's Day

Joy's mom saw THE HIT a comedy play last year and thought that all her children would also enjoy. We celebrated Mother's Day in memory of Joy's mom Lorraine, with the help of Val and saw the play Sunday. Mom was right everyone loved it! All nine childrens, most spouses and some of her grand children were there. It's playing until mid June at the Horton Grand Theatre, 444 4th Ave, downtown San Diego. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

FREAKY - Painting with a camera
Last Monday we went to the William Heise County Park near Julian to continue Mother's Day celebration. I was looking at these trees that just had a lot of contrast. I used my ND400 filter to slow my shutter down then did the shake and no-bake thing and painted this. I hope that this is just a painting and nothing else - spooky.

Just CHILLING at the park - it was a beautiful day.
