It was a crazy night yesterday, we wanted to sleep early before fishing at midnight - opening day of the lobster season.  It started with a 3 feet rattle snake in our front yard between the boat and Joel's dune buggy.  Joel and I managed to cutoff its head and of coarse our chef Joy wanted to cook it.  This was my first time to skin and clean a snake, it was still moving - FREAKY!   Check my

At Park Moabi a couple weeks ago.  Our old Yamaha jet boat had some problems and we traded in for this Sea Doo Speedster 200.   We used GoPro's and Sony's Nex-5 for the videos. HOW MANY TIMES DID WE SALUTE? Joel helped re-edit the video.

I was actually thinking of my parents when I bought Joy a Sony NEX-5 camera kit, I wish I'd taken movies of our parents and kids. The NEX-5 is like my canon dslr but much smaller with a big image sensor, very light, compact and she can put it in her purse. We went lobster diving in Andy's boat last night and Drew, my nephew, caught this 11 lbs monster using hands only.  Joel is holding a normal size 1.5 lbs.  Joel caught a couple 8 pounders last time they went.  The boys were 13 and 14 years old when they started diving with Andy - that was 10 years ago. Alright here's the update since I haven't posted in awhile. My friend Chris from work texted us with a great deal flying with Delta for $270 round trip from San Diego to the great state of Hawaii. Joel caught this White Sea Bass with live squid off La Jolla. Drew and Joel went fishing Wednesday night- Thursday morning on Kelly's boat. They only caught one but it was the biggest, Uncle Dave and his friend Mark caught 15! The fish was about 5 feet at 50 lbs.  The bass almost took all the fishing line! With Drew's and Kelly's help Joel was able to haul this sucker in.

For a couple of weeks my mom didn't want to see little Veronica because mom thought her symptoms were contagious. Mom has colon cancer and losing is weight, dad is in and out of the hospital, but overall they're in good spirits. Thanks to my brother, Noel, they are in good hands. On Father's Day we went to the movie to see UP in 3D, it was sad and funny. Then Leilani & Jay treated us to Pat & Oscar for a very late lunch -Thanks Leilani & Jay. Took these picture with Joy's new Lumix DMC-FX150 point & shoot camera by Panasonic. I bought it from Geeks.com for $215, it's a 14.7MP 3.6x Optical Zoom, what I like is the manual mode and takes HD movies.

Ariana passed her driving test first time in March 4, 2009. She can drive a jet ski, jet boat, go Karts and her quad when she was young but still can't ride a bike. I remember trying to teach her how to ride a bike, installing and removing the training wheels off & on so many times, that I just give up.

Dr. Clay Johnston is Joy's families Vet and friend. Andy (Joy's bother) is very good friends with Clay. Dr. Clay began AVL Animal Hospital in Hemet over 25 years ago and AVL is surrounded by an orange orchard. Dr. Clay is an excellent veterinarian and he's taken very good care of our Eddie.

I took this picture in Dec of 2007 when Joy & I went on a NCL Cruise for 10 days. We also visited the Potes for a couples days. I took five portrait/vertical shots at the back of the ship and made it to a panorama. Camera setting in manual mode to keep the shutter and aperture in a fixed position.

Joy's mom saw THE HIT a comedy play last year and thought that all her children would also enjoy. I've been scanning a lot of Joy's family pictures lately and I came across this black & white picture that Joy's grandfather, also a photographer, took in the 1940's. Lisa and David took Ariana and I to this same place when we were visiting a couple years ago. The waterfall is in a national park in Illinois it looks dry back then and it was only trickling when we were there.

Joy and I went to the Ivy Hotel in San Diego downtown to support Steven, Larry, and Michelle where they stayed waiting to be called to tesitify. Steven was in a car accident about two years ago and has been suffering with a brain injury. Here's a picture of Steven with one of his lawyers Nick. We hope everything turns out well for him.

Joy and I went to the Wild Animal Park serveral times after work to take some pictures. Great exercise going up and down the trails. Also teaching Joy what to look for the background, like the three B's - blur, black and blown. I think she did a great job, I especially like her lion with the jaw in motion.

In my lab at work we have this robotic arm that I photograph during my break time. I used a flashlight with different colored filters for my lighting effects and the motion shots were only moving the camera around.

Some of my orchids bloomed last weekend and I also found a patch of Calla lilies at Michelle's yard with a lady bug larve. The Calla lily is one Joy's mom favorite flower that she grew. I remembered when Joy's mom also grew different type house plants and her dad used to sell them at the swap meet with a Mr. Bali Hai Mug that he tranformed to a pot.No photoshop.

While Joy, Nancy, Dianne, and April were trying to get out from their Mexico cruise ship yesterday, I had about an hour to take some pictures of the LA harbor. I played around with the camera's settings to change the mood of my pictures and also blew some hot air on my lens for a foggie effect.
